About Me: VeVe Collector & Common Club Founder

Hi! I'm Smellsfunn, and I run Common Club.

My Web3/VeVe name is Smellsfunn. I've been collecting on VeVe since April 2, 2021 — early enough to have lived through both the platform's 2021 hype cycle and the long quiet that followed. What started as a personal collecting hobby grew into Common Club: first a small apparel brand for the VeVe community, now also the place I publish honest, fandom-first writing about VeVe and digital collecting.

How Common Club started

I'm a graphic designer by trade. When I joined VeVe for the original DeLorean Time Machine drop in 2021, I started sharing VeVe-inspired graphics in the community — and people kept asking if I'd put them on t-shirts. So I did.

The response was bigger than I expected. Other collectors wanted to wear their fandom; that became Common Club Apparel. Over the years, I've gotten to share the brand with the VeVe community at events, through giveaways, and in collaborations.

One of those moments: VeVe invited me to give away Common Club shirts at Designercon 2022, both at the London show and at the Anaheim event. The line at the VeVe booth was real, and I got to meet many of the collectors I'd been talking to online for years. (The DCON Anaheim giveaway is on Twitter if you want to see it.)

I've also been featured in a VeVe Community Update video alongside other community designers — embed below.

What I actually bring to the writing on this site

Common Club's content side is newer than the apparel side, and a fair question is: why should you trust what I write about VeVe and digital collecting? Here's the honest answer:

  • I'm a long-term collector. Member since April 2, 2021. I've watched VeVe across two cycles — the 2021 hype peak, the 2022–2023 trough, and the slow rebuild that's followed. That's the lens this writing is built on.
  • I'm the second-largest holder of the Mighty Marvel Thor — and as of May 21, 2026, you can actually see my live VeVe collection (VeVe just made profiles publicly shareable — no app required to view). The Marvel Mightys series is one of the most-collected lines on VeVe, and I've been deeply involved with it. If you read my Marvel Mightys guide, that's the experience underneath it.
  • I've contributed design work to VeVe community projects. I designed branding for the VeVeMagic community initiative (event series for VeVe collectors) and the Women of VeVe project. VeVeMagic gave me a shoutout when they used one of my graphics as the promo image for their "Here to Stay: Celebrating Collectors at Heart" livestream in May 2023.
  • I'm in the community day-to-day. I post and reply on X as @smellsfunn and run @ComClubApparel. If something on VeVe is happening, I'm probably watching it.

None of that makes me right about everything. It does mean that when I write "this is worth knowing before you start collecting" or "the secondary market on this piece is thinner than it looks," it's coming from someone who has actually lived inside the platform — not a generic affiliate site copy-pasting marketing material.

Where Common Club is heading

The brand has evolved. Apparel is still here — Common Club's collector-identity merch is what got the brand started, and there's a real lifetime customer base behind it. But the content side is now where most of my time goes. The goal is to be the calm, honest, fandom-first source that newcomers with real questions can trust before they start collecting on VeVe — and the place that long-time collectors can recommend without cringing.

I'm not trying to out-rank VeVe's official content on official facts. I'm trying to be the independent voice that takes your questions seriously and gives you real answers — about whether VeVe is legit, whether Disney NFTs are worth buying, what's actually changed since the hype cycle, and what to know about ownership and Collect Chain.
