Marvel Mightys Future and Speculation

The Marvel Mightys brand has sparked many fan theories due to its unique position within the Marvel collectible lineup.

Marvel Mightys Game

VeVe fans have been speculating since the launch of Marvel Mightys in August 2021 that the NFTs could be incorporated into an online or Web3 game where collectors would be able to play as the characters they own.

Some have referred to the 2015 Marvel Mighty Heroes app-based game, as a possible reference point.

However, the VeVe team has downplayed this idea and gaming professionals within the VeVe space have noted that the current 3D assets were not designed for gameplay.

Nonetheless, many Marvel Mighty NFT holders are still hoping for more interactivity with their collectibles.

Some believe that the NFT itself, and not the 3D model, could be used to access specific tokens or gameplay.

The idea of a game for Marvel Mightys continues to circulate in the VeVe community.

Marvel Mightys NFT Toys

A likely theory is that the Marvel Mightys will be released in the physical form such as a vinyl toy or figure like Funko Pop.

This Chibi style (a Japanese aesthetic with characters sporting large eyes and heads) is popular in the toy market.

Notable examples with Marvel licenses include the Disney Plus show Spidey and his Amazing Friends and Hot Toys Cosbaby.

Will Funko release the Marvel Mightys?

The Funko brand is a possible candidate to produce a Marvel Mighty Toy Line though there is no evidence at the time to support this theory. However, there are some links that suggest this is a probability.

  • Based on the Funko 2022 investor report, the company is actively looking to scale into new product offerings and innovation brands, noting digital and NFTs.
  • In 2022, Funko acquired Mondo known for limited-edition art and toys. VeVe has released collectibles from Mondo but none since the brand was acquired. Any future releases may hint at a relationship with Funko. Funko is pursuing its own NFT lineup and outlet.
  • Funko has an established history with Disney and Marvel with a range of licensed offerings.
  • Bob Iger, Disney’s CEO is on the board of Funko as an adviser acting within the interests of an investment group that recently acquired a 25% stake in the toy brand.
  • Bob Iger has been actively investing in the NFT and Web3 space and is leading Disney toward its own Metaverse plans.
  • The retailer Target frequently releases Funko exclusives under the Marvel banner. Target was also featured as a partner, alongside VeVe, within the Marvel block at New York Comic Con.

Marvel Mighys NFT Drops

The collection of Marvel Mightys NFTs on VeVe is expanding, with rumors suggesting that there will be six drops in 2023.

As more Marvel Mighty drops are released on VeVe, it is likely that fans will have access to an even wider variety of collectibles featuring their favorite Marvel characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the Disney Plus line-up.

This could include popular characters that have not yet been featured on the platform, as well as new versions of existing characters with different costumes or poses.
